right's Point Plantation is a unique property within the Town of Port Royal, South Carolina. We are located on a main artery into the Town of Port Royal and into Beaufort Proper (Highway 802). We are already a part of a vibrant and fast growing community, and we are located along a fast growing commercial roadway.

We will strive to be a vital part of the community of Port Royal while preserving the greatest natural assets of our property for the inhabitants of Wright's Point Plantation and its visitors. The philosophy behind the development of Wright's Point is derived not only from our relationship to our immediate neighbors and the Town of Port Royal, but also the lay of the land.

An entry piece along Parris Island Gateway. This roadway is a major gateway into Beaufort Proper four lane, and slated for a lot of growth in the not too distant future. This leg of the property will be primarily a commercial center with mixed residential. (Apartments over shops with small single family residential along the west side of the entry avenue). We will allow for a profitable and marketable shopping center to happen in a contributing fashion for the residential and civic quality of the neighborhood.

To the south and east is a piece which is interior from the water and bordered by a mix of development.

Finally, there is a leg which reaches out to the water front. This leg forms a peninsula which looks to the northeast and northwest and has view to both sunrises over Port Royal Sound and sunsets over the marshes of Battery Creek. The interior lots are developed around waterfront greens which will have community docks.

At The Heart of the Property
At the heart of the property, central to the three legs, is a natural feature which is unique for the lowcountry. A draw which originates in multiple fingers fed from artesian springs and ends in a tidal marsh on the water front. Because of the springs, this bit of land had never been utilized for agriculture as had the rest of the property, and so, has a number of spectacular trees and a very wild, preserved character. This natural feature will continue to be preserved, however pathways will be introduced, and we have slated public oriented uses surrounding (a restaurant and inn) so as to add a civic element to it. It is intended to be not only the physical center of the community, but also its heart and soul, being the common link between single family, multi-family, residential over commercial, and visitors coming to the restaurant and inn.

The overriding design philosophy for each of the three legs of Wright's Point Plantation should be one which sensitive to the lay of the lot, sensitive to the existing tree canopy and its preservation, sensitive to neighbors (whether building or plants), and sensitive to the public realm created by the architecture.
